Therapy for Women | Anxiety & Emotional Support

Worry and stress don’t have to control your mood or your days anymore.

You’re here because maybe you are:

Caught in loops of overthinking or second-guessing yourself, unable to quiet your mind even when you try

Feeling overwhelmed by a stressful relationship, work demand, or other specific situation that seems to take up all your emotional energy, leaving you tense and unsure how to find relief

Noticing your emotions are closer to the surface than they used to be; you're irritated, tearful, or anxious for reasons you can’t always name

Taking all the “right” steps, but the stress persists

What progress in therapy can look like:

Rather than triggers catching you off guard and throwing off your day, you know how to steady yourself and move forward without spiraling into negative thoughts

Rather than muscling though challenging circumstances and losing your temper, the moments that used to feel tense or overwhelming begin to feel manageable

Rather than negative thoughts taking over, you have a newfound awareness about why the negative thoughts are arising, and you know how to reframe the situation to help you cope

Therapy helps you shift perspective, respond with awareness, and move through life with greater calm and clarity.

Hello there!

I’m Tamara, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional.

After years of working in mental health and walking my own healing journey, I created my private practice as a refuge for women navigating anxiety, invisible pressure, and the waves of modern life.

My approach blends clinical expertise with a safe space for you to feel heard and validated. Through evidence-based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based techniques, I’ll help you untangle your thoughts and steady your emotions.

Frequently asked questions

  • What can I expect in our first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get acquainted and for me to better understand what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask some questions about your background, your experiences, and what feels most difficult right now. Together, we’ll explore what you’re hoping for and what you’d like to feel different in your life.

There’s no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on or how to put everything into words. We’ll take our time, and I’ll help guide the conversation so we can begin to understand what you need and where it might be most helpful to start.

This first session is also an opportunity for both of us to get a better sense of whether we’re a good fit. Feeling comfortable with your therapist matters. I’ll also consider whether my approach and experience are well suited to what you’re looking for, so that you can feel confident moving forward together.

  • How many sessions will I need?

There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline for therapy. Some clients find clarity and relief over several months, while others desire long term support and ongoing self-discovery. Often times, clients begin to notice positive change and feel more hopeful after only a few sessions. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you and revisit your goals along the way.

  • How often will we meet?

I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis, especially in the beginning of our work together. Meeting weekly helps us build momentum and gives us the space to go beyond updates and managing what happened that week. As you begin to feel better and the changes we’re working toward take hold, we can decide together when it makes sense to meet less often. Clients who meet with me weekly tend to self-report the most progress.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means you pay for sessions directly and can request reimbursement from your insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) each month that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Please note that insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to process claims. This means that you must qualify for a mental health diagnosis before I can provide a superbill.

To check your out-of-network benefits, you can call your insurance provider and ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health coverage?
    • What is my deductible and have I met it?
    • What percentage of my session fee will be reimbursed?
    • Do I need pre-authorization for therapy?

Many clients find that their insurance reimburses a portion of their session fees, making therapy more affordable.

  • What if I don’t want a diagnosis shared with my insurance?

That’s completely okay. If you prefer not to submit claims for reimbursement, your information will remain private and will not be shared with anyone outside of our work together. Many clients choose to pay privately for this reason, as it allows for complete confidentiality and freedom from insurance requirements. Your privacy is of utmost importance to me. I believe privacy is a huge benefit to working with a private practitioner.

  • Session fees and payment

Each therapy session is 50 minutes and billed at a rate of $200 per session. Payment is due at the time of each session and can be made by credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card through a secure online system.

If you ever need to adjust your schedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. I know that life happens, so I provide all of my clients with one free late cancellation.

  • How does virtual therapy work?

Virtual therapy allows us to meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform designed specifically for therapy. You will receive reminders and a meeting link prior to our session.  All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet, comfortable space where you can talk freely.

  • Still have questions?

If you have any other questions about fees, scheduling, or what to expect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to answer your questions before we begin so you can feel informed and confident about starting therapy.
