POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION THERAPIST MARIN COUNTY & SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA | TAMARA PANCOE
Worry and stress don’t have to control your mood or your days anymore.
Together, we’ll make space for all of it, the joy, the exhaustion, and the emotions you weren’t expecting, to help you feel steady and whole again.
You’re here because maybe ...
You’ve had the thought, “This isn’t what I expected,” in the middle of a 3 a.m. feeding or while scrolling through photos of smiling moms online. You wonder why this season, one that’s supposed to feel joyful, feels so heavy, lonely, or disorienting instead.
You love your baby more than you knew you could, but the joy you imagined is mixed with worry, exhaustion, and guilt for not “enjoying every moment.” Some days, you hold your baby close and still feel an ache you can’t quite name.
You notice how your clothes fit differently, how your days blur together, how you can’t remember the last time you felt rested or spontaneous. Your world has shifted, your body, your rhythm, even your sense of who you are, and you find yourself quietly wondering when you’ll feel like you again.
It’s not your fault you feel this way
Motherhood asks everything of you, your time, your body, your sleep, your identity, and gives you very little space to simply
be. You’re told to be grateful, to stay positive, to soak it all in. But no one talks about how lonely it can feel when your world has changed overnight and you’re expected to adjust without missing a beat.
It’s time to give yourself a space to exhale so you can go from:
Feeling tense, irritable, and anxious most of the day to knowing how to respond and cope with these difficult feelings
Worrying constantly about your baby’s safety or your ability to be a “good mom” to trusting yourself and knowing you’re doing enough.
Snapping at your partner out of exhaustion and guilt to communicating clearly and feeling supported in your relationship.

Pregnancy and early motherhood will stir up emotions and present challenges you didn't expect.
Perinatal therapy helps you understand what’s happening beneath your feelings and gives you the tools to navigate the tough moments and restore a sense of balance.
How to Get Started
We’ll start by talking about what feels hardest right now.
Whether it’s worry about your baby’s well-being, irritability with your partner, or guilt for not feeling as joyful as you expected. I want to learn about your unique experience and what kind of support would feel most helpful.
As we meet regularly, we will begin to understand what contributes to your anxiety and overwhelm.
Whether it’s sleep deprivation, intrusive thoughts, or the invisible pressure to get everything right. Together, we will make sense of your emotions and identify what you need to start feeling more grounded and at ease in your daily life.
You’ll build practical tools to manage anxious thoughts, set healthy boundaries, and nurture your well-being.
Over time, you’ll begin to feel more grounded, patient, and connected to yourself and your family.
Hello there!
Hi, I’m Tamara Pancoe, LMFT, PMH-C, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional.
I know that pregnancy and postpartum can be an intense experience. From irritability to intrusive thoughts to relationship issues, pregnancy and the postpartum period are an important time to receive support. You’re not alone in how you’re feeling, and your symptoms are both common and treatable.
After years of working in mental health and walking my own healing journey, I created my private practice as a refuge for women navigating invisible pressure, emotional overload, and the ever-changing tides of motherhood and modern life.
My approach blends clinical expertise with a safe space for you to feel heard and validated. Through evidence-based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based techniques, I’ll help you untangle your thoughts and steady your emotions.

Motherhood doesn’t ask you to be perfect, it asks you to be present.
You deserve support that meets you there. Let’s begin.

Frequently asked questions
What can I expect in our first session?
Your first session is about me getting to know you, what’s been feeling difficult, what you’d like to work on, and what kind of support you need most right now. I’ll ask a few questions to better understand your experiences and together we’ll begin clarifying your goals for therapy.
This session is also a chance for both of us to get a sense of fit. It’s important that you feel comfortable, understood, and confident that this space can meet your needs. I also want to make sure that my approach and skillset will help you achieve your goals. If either one of us determines that the fit is not right, I will provide you with names of therapists who can support you.
Therapy is most effective when it feels like the right match, and we’ll use this time to make sure the approach and connection feel supportive for you moving forward.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline for therapy. Some clients find clarity and relief after 6 months, while others continue longer to support ongoing growth and self-discovery. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you and revisit your goals along the way.
How often will we meet?
I meet with clients on a weekly basis. Once you have met your goals, we may transition to every other week sessions to support maintenance.
Do you accept insurance?
I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means you pay for sessions directly and can request reimbursement from your insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) each month that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Please note that insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to process claims. This means that you will first need to qualify for a mental health diagnosis before I can provide a superbill.
To check your out-of-network benefits, you can call your insurance provider and ask:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health coverage?
- What is my deductible and have I met it?
- What percentage of my session fee will be reimbursed?
- Do I need pre-authorization for therapy?
Many clients find that their insurance reimburses a portion of their session fees, making therapy more affordable.
What if I don’t want a diagnosis shared with my insurance?
That’s completely okay. If you prefer not to submit claims for reimbursement, your diagnosis will remain private and will not be shared with anyone outside of our work together. Many clients choose to pay privately for this reason, as it allows for complete confidentiality and freedom from insurance requirements.
How does virtual therapy work?
Virtual therapy allows us to meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform designed specifically for therapy.
All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet, comfortable space where you can talk freely. Many clients find that meeting virtually makes it easier to stay consistent with therapy, without the added stress of travel or scheduling.
Session Fees and Payment
Each therapy session is 50 minutes and billed at a rate of $200 per session. Payment is due at the time of each session and can be made by credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card through a secure online system.
If you ever need to adjust your schedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee.
Still Have Questions?
If you have any other questions about fees, scheduling, or what to expect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to answer your questions before we begin so you can feel informed, comfortable, and confident about starting therapy.
