Therapy in San Francisco, CA | Tamara Pancoe, LMFT
San Francisco moves fast demanding work schedules, constant stimulation, and layered emotional responsibilities. Even the most capable women can feel stretched thin or overwhelmed. Therapy gives you a place to pause, reflect, and understand what’s happening internally with compassion. I help women in San Francisco navigate anxiety, burnout, and emotional exhaustion while building steadiness in the midst of a busy life.

Therapy for Woman
LEARN MOREThis work is about reconnecting with yourself in a way that feels honest and gentle. Therapy helps you understand the stress you’ve been carrying, the roles you’ve taken on, and the emotions you’ve had to hold alone. As we slow down together, you begin feeling more grounded and emotionally attuned.
Anxiety Therapy
LEARN MOREIf you have been moving through life with a constant sense of urgency or emotional tension, therapy can help you find clarity. We explore the origins of your anxiety, the pressures you carry, and the moments where you feel most overwhelmed. This process is intentional and gentle, allowing you to feel understood rather than judged. With time you develop tools that help you manage stress with more stability and confidence.
Stress Therapy
LEARN MOREYou may care deeply about the people in your life but still feel the weight of misunderstanding, conflict, or emotional disconnection. Relationship counseling helps you explore the deeper roots beneath these experiences, regulate your emotional responses, and communicate with clarity—so your relationships can feel more aligned and supportive.
Relationship Counseling
LEARN MOREEven if you’re highly capable and resilient, stress can leave you feeling internally overwhelmed or emotionally on edge. Stress therapy offers a space to understand your patterns, regulate your nervous system, and step out of autopilot. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and create a steadier rhythm for your life.
Life Transitions Counseling
LEARN MOREWhen everything around you is shifting, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed or disconnected from who you are. Life transitions counseling provides a calm, reflective space to explore what this chapter is asking of you and helps you move through uncertainty with more emotional grounding and self-understanding.
Postpartum Anxiety and Depression Therapy
LEARN MOREPostpartum anxiety and depression can make even simple moments feel tense or emotionally distant. You may be navigating intrusive thoughts, persistent sadness, guilt, or the sense that you’re not yourself lately. Therapy offers a supportive environment to understand these experiences, release internal pressure, and regulate your nervous system. Through compassionate guidance, you can begin reconnecting with your identity and finding steady ground as you adjust to the realities of early motherhood.
Pregnancy Therapy
LEARN MOREPregnancy therapy offers thoughtful support for the emotional layers that emerge during pregnancy. You may be navigating excitement and fear at once, feeling overwhelmed by physical changes, or struggling with internal expectations. Therapy helps you explore these feelings with gentleness, understand where they come from, and create strategies for navigating them with more steadiness. This space allows you to feel supported, grounded, and emotionally prepared for what’s ahead.

Frequently asked questions
Do you accept insurance?
I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means you pay for sessions directly and can request reimbursement from your insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) each month that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Please note that insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to process claims. This means that you will first need to qualify for a mental health diagnosis before I can provide a superbill.
To check your out-of-network benefits, you can call your insurance provider and ask:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health coverage?
- What is my deductible and have I met it?
- What percentage of my session fee will be reimbursed?
- Do I need pre-authorization for therapy?
Many clients find that their insurance reimburses a portion of their session fees, making therapy more affordable.
What if I don’t want a diagnosis shared with my insurance?
That’s completely okay. If you prefer not to submit claims for reimbursement, your diagnosis will remain private and will not be shared with anyone outside of our work together. Many clients choose to pay privately for this reason, as it allows for complete confidentiality and freedom from insurance requirements.
How does virtual therapy work?
Virtual therapy allows us to meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform designed specifically for therapy.
All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet, comfortable space where you can talk freely. Many clients find that meeting virtually makes it easier to stay consistent with therapy, without the added stress of travel or scheduling.
Session Fees and Payment
Each therapy session is 50 minutes and billed at a rate of $200 per session. Payment is due at the time of each session and can be made by credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card through a secure online system.
If you ever need to adjust your schedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee.
Still Have Questions?
If you have any other questions about fees, scheduling, or what to expect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to answer your questions before we begin so you can feel informed, comfortable, and confident about starting therapy.
